The system was subsequently continuously expanded and enhanced, and operations were continuously supported. In 2018, Diehl Defence began implementing 3DEXPERIENCE / CATIA V6 and replacing SmarTeam / CATIA V5. Valexcon developed the implementation strategy, designed the complete data migration, and successfully implemented it using the Migration On Demand solution.
In addition, the company managed the entire system implementation, expanded 3DEXPERIENCE with valexcon add-on modules, and implemented the integration with SAP. As part of its digital transformation, Diehl Defence decided to modernize all development and production processes, as well as the underlying methods. The implementation is being carried out in close cooperation with valexcon, which creates customized training materials and conducts comprehensive PLM training courses.
Benefit:
Through its close partnership with valexcon, Diehl Defence was able to implement a seamless, digital, end-to-end process chain that seamlessly connects all phases of product development and production. From the initial concept phase through design to manufacturing, all processes are fully digitally mapped, enabling a significant increase in efficiency. The introduction of 3DEXPERIENCE and the integration of valexcon add-on modules has led to significant automation, particularly in engineering. Manual interventions have been drastically reduced, and recurring tasks in the design and development process are now performed automatically.
