Efficient drawing creation with automated drawing frames and headers
For each new CATDrawing, the drawing must be created with a frame and header. This requires repetitive manual tasks with a certain number of pre-constructed drawing frames. The standard functions of 3DEXPERIENCE and CATIA only offer the option of manually extracting a drawing frame from a library and populating it with attributes. 3DEXPERIENCE and CATIA also do not include automatic updating of drawing headers upon changes or release.
We offer two solutions for automating the creation and filling of drawing frames:
The TitleBlock Macro for basic functionality and the TitleBlock Application for extended, rule-based functionality.
Both solutions support the selection and creation of drawing frames in CATDrawings. The use of multiple sheets within a CATDrawing is a feature of both solutions. The title blocks are populated with relevant information from 3DEXPERIENCE and CATIA using attribute mapping. Our solutions for selecting, populating, and updating the title block offer significant advantages in terms of time, cost, quality, standardization, and process reliability.
Titleblock Macro
The Titleblock Macro, as a function call integrated in CATIA, offers the creation of new title blocks on CATDrawings, the selection of the frame and an automatic filling of the title block with 3DEXPERIENCE metadata.
With just a few clicks, the frame is selected, the frame size can be easily changed, and the title block is populated with the required information. Users benefit from easy handling for quickly creating standardized drawing frames and the use of existing information from CATIA and 3DEXPERIENCE when generating the populated title block.
Titleblock Application
With the TitleBlock Application, the drawing frame can be created using a custom input mask and a configurable set of rules. We offer a solution for dynamically creating and updating drawing frames and headers. The application is flexibly designed to meet a wide variety of customer requirements (e.g., different layouts and optional fields). Multiple, even different, sheets (CATDrawing Sheets) are supported.
The user benefits from a high level of automation in the creation of complex drawing frames with a flexible and dynamic structure based on an input logic. With this solution, valexcon offers significant savings potential for many manual processes, a high level of standardization in drawing creation, and increased process reliability, quality, and efficiency.
In addition, we offer a solution for the automated updating of the drawing header with new data from 3DEXPERIENCE when changes or releases occur:
Title block update
TitleBlock Update enables automated updating of the information in the title block with updated data from CATIA and 3DEXPERIENCE. This requires an existing implementation of TitleBlock Macro or TitleBlock Application, as well as the Dynamic Data Suite. A workflow controls the automated update of the information in the title block without user interaction, triggered by an event or a new status in the development process, such as data release.
